Who's to Blame?

Who are we to blame for Earth’s mishaps? Is it a human’s fault for all world tragedies? Everyone always seems to be pointing fingers at one another when calamity occurs. For instance, a tsunami leaves nothing but devastation and lost hopes in its path for the survivors but before anyone has time to mourn over their losses, humanity finds someone who can be considered blameworthy.

Al Gore, along with many others, feel that the human race is responsible for all natural tragedies. Our pollution is not the reason. They say floods, tornadoes and hurricanes are all consequences of global warming. It is quite humorous that when the sun is shining and the heat is rising in an unlikely place, the world goes into upheaval pronouncing the news that our world is coming to an end because of global warming! I find it even more comical that abruptly when snow begins to fall and temperatures drop, mayhem begins once more with inhabitants crying out and saying it’s so cold, it might be the next ice age. MAKE UP YOUR MIND!

Those who have taken their time to research and study will come to the conclusion that the Earth's climate is largely affected by how much heat is stored in the atmosphere and anything that affects the storage of heat can cause the climate of the Earth to change. It is not just man-made pollution that can cause climate change. Changes in the amount of greenhouse gases in the air have occurred naturally during the history of the Earth, leading to climate changes.

It is not anyone’s fault for climate change and just because it’s several degrees lower or higher than what you may be accustom to, does not mean it is the end of the world as we know it. The only tragedies we can blame ourselves for is man-made destruction.

On a community forum I came across on the internet, someone asked the question “Are we ruining our world with technology?? Why can’t we just use our technology for good instead of bad?” Sorry Pllum, but stupid question. This is simply because there is no universal good and evil. What one person believes to be good, another may believe to be bad and vice versa. Member, Pllum, also said “Well I think one BAD for a lot of people is those highly radioactive atomic bombs…They KILL us.” Someone came up with a response saying, “…and killing people is bad because?” This is my point. Not everyone will agree between what is good and evil, just like people may not agree that world tragedies are our fault.

The people in our world will always find someone to blame. Without culpability, random but natural occurrences would fail to make sense to them. People find comfort in responsibility. If no one is accountable for misfortunes, it leaves them feeling vulnerable and not at all in control. But who are we to blame for earths mishaps? The answer is no one, but I guess it is your choice to decide.
