Lack of Posts!
As of now, this “blog” is an apology of my poor blogging attitude and a promise to craft something high-quality hopefully in the near future.

Where Has the Creativity Gone?
As of now I am reading The Time traveler's Wife. It's a very unique and not at all traditional love story and like most books these days it is being turned into a movie which comes to a theater near you august 14th! With Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams as the main characters, I have a feeling it is going to be a great film.
What I don't fully understand is why movie directors are so keen on making movies that are originally books. Where has all the talent gone? The creativity? The incentive to create a work of art and make it your own? Nearly every movie I see or will see has originally been a book. To name a few: HP movies, I love you, Beth Cooper, Dear John (the book wasn’t too bad), the Twilight saga,
No, I am not bashing the movies and no, I am not criticizing the directors. I am actually looking forward to seeing all of these movies. I only wonder what happened to the great directors with their own imagination who put forth everything into their work, including their own ideas and thoughts and storylines. I certainly hope that creativity is found for these movie making genius’.

Harry Potter. Fail.

Last night, I made my way to MJR at Partridge Creek to see the much anticipated Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. It felt invigorating to be around people who adore the series just as much as I do. I found people dressed as characters in the movie, people with HP t-shirts (I wore one too!) AND throughout the entire building, talk of what we all would soon be seeing echoed through the endless lines of people waiting to be seated.
I won’t lie; I got my hopes up…perhaps too much. I had this idea in my head that it would be a great movie; that I would walk out with a huge smile on my face, however, this did not happen. I was more than disappointed! I was distraught! Sure anyone who only watches the movies would say is was a fantastic film, but if you know the details that are in the book, you would completely understand what I mean. Shall I list off crucial details they left out?
- They missed some of the most vital scenes that are supposed to carry on to the 7th book, for instance the whole Bill and Fleur scenario ... this means that next movie, they wont show the wedding probably.
- The rest of the memories that were in the pensive and the Slitheran and hufflepuff objects used as Voldemort’s horcruxes. How is Harry going to know how to find the horcruxes in the 7th movie?
- THE FIGHT SCENE?!?!?!? They made it oh so very anticlimactic.
- They added the Burrow scene... why would they add a scene that never happened in the book and has nothing to do with the plot ending? That just took up precious minutes that could have been used for the funeral scene… THAT THEY DIDN’T SHOW.
- And speaking of the funeral… it would have made the whole movie much more sentimental and it would have been a proper way to say goodbye... I mean, he was such a huge part of the books and to all of their lives, especially Harry’s.
- And lastly, they didn’t explain the significance of why Voldemort chose that particular cave which may not seem important but I believe its crucial to show that the characters need to know everything about Voldemort’s passed in order to know how or why he does or will do certain [things] in the present/future. For example, why he uses certain objects as his horcruxes or how he possesses them.
I will admit that the acting was adequate and the humor was great. I had a ton of good laugh out loud moments. The humor they used really sh
ows how they are grown up compared to the first movie. I feel as though they should have made this movie PG-13. The vulgarity of some of the jokes I felt was a bit unsuitable for certain ages and there were parts where people even my own age got scared.
I’m not going to say it was the worst movie, but it definitely was a let down of my expectations. I just hope the 7th and 7th part 2 will be more accurate. I hope to be writing soon. And for those who read this and really don’t care for these films, I am sorry for my ranting!

Rainstorms and Biking

I haven’t written a blog in what seems like a decade. Okay, a bit of an exaggeration, but you get my point…it’s been a while. Summer has been oh so good to me! Staying busy yet keeping the chaos to a minimum. I finally started training on Tuesday for Checkers which is opening today so if you want some free food for the next few days, Checkers is your go to (located on 18 mile and
In other news, yesterday was a great day! My boss notified me, saying I didn’t have to go in to train so the three hours I would have normally spent on training, I used to enjoy the warm sun and extreme heat, however, when I got outside and sat down with a book at hand, I noticed more and more clouds cumulating. My sister convinced me now would be the perfect time to go biking/running. And being the pushover that I am when it comes to work that is beneficial to my health, I gave in.
We made our way to stony creek while it was only a light drizzle and I began at a steady pace for about 2 miles. I would have finished the full 6 miles I had originally planned to bike had it not been for the severe weather that had so suddenly occurred. Once I reached that 2 mile mark, it began to rain. And not just a light rain! This was more like a formidable downpour. It began to look more like the dead of night rather than mid afternoon.
I turned around and biked 2 miles back and just guess what was standing between me and my warm, wet-free car…a deer. Yes, a deer standing in my path, taking its sweet time to look me over, in no hurry to get out of the rain. This deer made no attempt to run back in the trees so I decided the quickest way was to go around him (or her). I had to stray from the path and into the terrain that was becoming more and more like a miniature mudslide. And would you guess what happened next? My foot got stuck in the mud. I blame the deer for this! Anyway, I ended up getting to the car safe and sound and truth be told enjoyed the bike ride through the heavy shower, despite the mud-covered foot.
I hope to be writing more soon! I’ve just been having a serious case of summer fever and don’t feel the need to sit at a computer when I could be taking pleasure in the sun!
